when crabs need shells....

when my hermit crabs need bigger shells what should i do???? wheres a good place to egt more that are safe to put in the tank???

You can find shells for your hermits at an LFS. Or I just leave my empty snail shells in the tank for the hermits. Occasionally I'll lose a couple snails when they fall off the glass, so I just leave them in.

I got my shells from the LFS and i just boiled them for 10 minutes to make sure that they did not have any contamanaints with them. They were free by the way.

Buy some snails...then let nature takes its course...the crabs eat good and get new homes. Oh and the snails will work until they meet their destiny...

Thats too funny, but it just seems so wrong!

We have a shell store near by, and bought some there. One is pretty big, but we put it in for fun...of course it was inhabited the next day. Is is so funny to see this big shell climbing on the LR. We say that crab has a mansion, because he's not that big.

It happens everyday in nature...and we are attempting to mimmick nature in our tanks.
So, feed the crabs good, and give 'em some shells.
