while doing some research on lighting I stumbled upon this
customsealife website:
Notice to all Distributors, Vendors and Valued Customers:
Effective immediately, CustomSeaLife, Inc. has ceased all business
operations. CustomSeaLife, Inc. is no longer manufacturing or selling any
products. In accordance with California law the corporation is being
dissolved. The decision to cease the operations of CustomSeaLife, Inc.,
after 14 years, was based upon a competitive climate in the industry that
has forced many manufacturing facilities to either move out of California or
over seas.
Please be advised that CustomSeaLife, Inc. has not authorized any companies
or individuals to represent an ongoing relationship with Custom Sea Life,
Inc., or to utilize its name or trademarks for any purpose.
CustomSeaLife, Inc. would like to thank all of its valued customers for many
years of patronage.

I bought new PCs and they told me they were not going to be able to warranty because the were dissolving, they were bought out by another company, I'll have to look up the new name, but the lights are the same ones with a new name on them

Current is NOT part of Custom Sea Life.
Many of the CSL "big wigs" started Current, so in essence its the same company, but without the liability that comes with CSL inc. CSL was basically sued out of business.

What I meant to imply was that Current was taking over where CustomSeaLife left off... Thanks for the clarification on that fishnerd.
BTW, what was the "liability" that CSL had that Current does not?
Curious because I use a CSL PC hood..

I believe several insurance companies sued them as they produced lights with non-operating fans which caused fires. I recall reading something about this in the past.

Disregard the last post...memory tells me they sent a massive shipment of PC/Moonlights with non-operating fans...not sure about lawsuits and fires...my bad. Old mind ain't what it used to be.

That's ok! Thanks though, sucks to hear about a reputable business in the hobby going under.
