At death.
On the cross, Jesus told the thief being crucified with Him "Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise."
Doesn't get any more clear than that.
(Luke 23:43)
What is paradise if it is not heaven ?

Nobody condemns people to hell, but themselves. Not church. Not God. Hell was made for Satan, not people. People choose
to go there. It's that simple.
You seem confused on why someone might go to hell. It certainly is not because of church.
Two posts later and you still did not answer the OPs question. Research Christianity some more then check back in.

The point is that the thief was a sinner and went to heaven immediately upon death because of his acceptance of Jesus Christ. This gift is offered to ALL humanity. All we have to do is accept the gift.

• The Book of Acts in the Bible describes the Christian conversion of an Ethiopian government official who was visiting in the southern part of what is now Israel. Other historical sources say the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia was founded in the 4th century. It remains one of the oldest continuous Christian churches in the world.
• Today, there are nearly 40 million Orthodox among the 400 million Christians in Africa.
Christianity is not a white religion, as you put it. It actually started with a bunch of Jews. All the authors of the New Testament were Jewish.

I am American Indian and Italian my wife is black Irish does that mean we are not in the white category or we are. Could you please let me know wtf RACE HAS TO DO WITH GOD ? He sees no color We are created equally.
Read the book of acts and it will tell you how to live a long prosperous life thats what ACTS IS all about how to live our life.
I also havee to disagree from a personal stand point and perrson opinion on who belives more. when I was younger in thhe inner city every africcan american home I went into had a cross or a saying about GOD the mothers were always' praying etc. I would goto the latinos they were the same. The white homes I went into some would but most did nothave anything that relected they were christian or not.

So you don't need to believe in/worship god and Jesus to go to heaven?
Well, I think the bible is full of contradictions because it's the word of man and not that of god. You can interpret it any way you want; it matters not to me because it's pure fiction. Why even bother answering the question?

Eden was considered paradise, was it not? Once every ounce of evil leaves the Earth, then it will be as Eden...paradise.
I'm not saying there is no heaven, I dont think it matters WHERE we end up as our purpose will be the same, but there is no mention of humans entering heaven in the bible.

Jesus stated He was going to sit at the right hand of God. God is in Heaven. If the thief is with Jesus, who is at the right hand of God, then the thief is in heaven.

it obviously is not so cut and dry. WHERE in the bible does it say you go straight to heaven? there is the one example of on the crucifix yes, but most other passages show everyone waits till judgement day and the return of the savior to get into heaven.

Out of respect for space on this thread I'll just post the link. Here is a link that discusses what it means to be a Christian. Please take time to find out what Christianity is about.

If you seriously want I can post every single one but I do not think it is necessary.
This is what I do not understand. People get upset when someone here ask hey I have a 10 gal tank and a 9 inch tang will it be ok in there or better yet.
I am cycling my tank should I use damsels !!!
People freak out and say read AND research things before you do it or ask it.
Why do people not follow their own advice ?
People always' state the bible is fiction and believing in GOD is the easy way. Well, for those whom believe can surly tell you what it was like before they submitted them self to GOD. They will lose most of their friends they stop doing things as they now see them immoral. They change everything in their life and are constantly attacked for it. I mean if your a Christian at work lets say and you say a profanity people are all like 3 year olds in a classroom covering their mouth saying ummm and pointing..
Christians are not perfect sometimes they are hypocrites sometimes they lie their was only one true perfect being and his name is YESHUA

fats, those "heavens" could more likely be understood as the air above the earth. unless you think all that water came from the eternal resting place...

and that has nothing to do with the thread... you need to relax and enjoy a nice conversation that everyone is having. i've shown passages saying that you wait till judgement day, yet no one can show that you go to heaven immediately upon death. i'm just wondering where the idea came from.

Well, I appreciate the link and I'll have to look into or maybe not, I was raised as a Catholic after all. You might want to send that to the 1.5 billion Muslims world wide, or the billion Hindus or the other assorted non white faiths/beliefs who will need this info to get into heaven :rotfl

fatz, I appreciate the concordance reference but I absolutely agree that there IS a heaven. Whether or not we go there is where my question lies.
SoCal, I must admit, what you said hold water.
But again, where you end up makes no difference as your "Purpose" will be the same.

In the Old Testament it is true that when you died you went to a place referred to as Abrahams bosom. In the New testament Jesus fulfills the prophecies as the Messiah. When you die, you go to be judged in front of God. Satan will be there. He will accuse you before God for all your sin. Jesus covers your sin with His death on the cross, (He died to do just that) and presents you blameless before God.
If you do not accept Christ as your savior the New Testament does state that you will not enter heaven. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me."
