When I say jump you say how high!

Well Corey after reading some threads on sumps I found out it's best to have the fuge on one side or the other, never in the middle!

Having it in the middle is O.K....it still works, but it's more effective to seperate them and have slow flow going through the fuge. You can split your drain line and have the main end drain into the skimmer section and the other end drain into the fuge...install a valve on the one to the fuge and adjust it so that 25% of your drain water is going through the fuge and the other 75% going through the skimmer. I trust in you research that you'll ultimately come to the conclusion that this is a very successful way to go, and it sounds like you have. As an added bonus it would allow you to issolate the fuge from the rest of the system in the event of a problem.

Your telling me to replumb my tank again! Lol. I just cemented everything inplace for the downpipe. Looks like I will be not having a y to the fuge and skimmer, just the skimmer. Lol.

If you're looking to have a skimmer section and fuge on either side of the return then you'll have to split it somehow...

It's the old one...I was just using the picture as sort of a reference to how he'll have to split is drain or return as Geo suggested. Personally I'd probably split the drain in order to feed the fuge with dirtier water...but that's just me. Shawn, I'm sure you remember the long discussion we had on my thread about using the plexi/acrylic baffles and all of the suggestions and good information your friend who owns the acrylic shop shared. I passed some of that info along to Acropora. He to sounds like he's rather do glass baffles to be a little more on the safer side. Once mine is re-done it will look basically the same as this one does. I just wanted to change out the plexi baffles and go with glass as well as modify the size of the skimmer chamber.
