When LFS go bad- NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

Wow. Those are THE worst looking tanks I have ever seen. That's just awful.
The ***** I have in town is actually somewhat decent. Not the most knowledgeable staff, but their fish are healthy and the tanks look nice.

They opened a new ***** near me a year or so ago, and there was a billboard not to far from the store that was a PETA billboard, said PetNo. I went in there a couple times, didn't seem so bad, but the guy in there was about as knowledgeable as a pet rock.

All of the local fish stores have very nice display tanks and and livestock tanks. However, the store I usually go to has a large liverock tank as well. It looks like the the rock is covered by brown sludge... kinda like when you fill a dirty gravy pot with sink water.
Is this normal, or should I avoid this place?

Actually it is the opposite in my area (with the LFS's). My ***** is always clean and the guy in charge really knows what he is talking about. Even talked me out of a snowflake eel when I was a real newbie. Didn't know they would grow to be so big! Anyway, the "local" LFS stores are the ones that are always so discusting! This one store was okay, but everything that I buy from there dies in a few days. Needless to say, I quit shopping there! :nope:
