I was wondering how often you should change your bulbs? I have 3-250watt MH and 2-165 VHO actinics. Im pretty sure that they are over two years old. I bought the lighting system used a year ago. Thanks! :notsure:

Definitely change them out. I just changed my MH bulbs after 9 months. I read somewhere 8-10 months on MH and pc bulbs every 12-18 months depending on how long you run them daily.

When you change your lights your going to have to reacclimate your corals to them because thats going to be a big increase in intensity

How should I do that? Start out just a few hours a day and work my way up?? I wont lie...I did not acclimate them when I put them in. Should I? I mean I always acclimate them to the water but never the light....

yea deffinately time for new bulbs...
what u can do is raise the lights if possible or u can put some kind of screen material over the tanks top to help block some of the light out then remove after a couple days....
im bad at light acclimating also.... but u could possibly kill corals since ur current lights are probably really low on the PAR meter now
