When to change RO filters?

I haven't kept up with how many gallons of water I have made but I could probably back into it with somewhat of a large variance. Instead of doing that, is there a rule of thumb of when you should change your RO filters. I am using a TDS meter but I didn't know if it was enough to wait until your TDS meter starts going up. Or should you just change them say every 6 months or something like that. Thanks.

This may be overkill but I change all my sediment and carbon filters plus the DI filter about every 6 months.

Thanks. I was shooting for every 6 months which is right about now. I figure that's the easiest way. I have refilled my DI resin since it was looking brownish. I figure I use 32 gallons a week. Multiply that by 4 for weeks in a month and 6 months gives me 768 so it's probably time for a change. Where can you get RO filters? I was thinking Home Depot. :notsure:
