When to use Protien Skimmer ??

My tank is now 6 weaks old and cycled. Question is when do I start to run my portien skimmer ? I have a clean up crew and 2 clowns atm.

umm id say now, not going to hurt would have helped with some beneficial bacteria...

I think that right about at this phase in my tank is when I finally got my skimmer in and going, and that worked well for me.
