when will it go away?

i am trying to seed some Sd and i have had it going for about 3 weeks doing water changes weekly. It seems the detrisproblem is ony getting worse. When will this stuff clear up? On every water change i also "vacuum" the top 1/8thinch or so of the stuff, but it just returns stronger than ever. someone please help>> thanks

are u using tap water? that might be ur problem

You have a typo or a misspelling there, can you clarify what you mean? I am not familiar with your tank. Diatoms? Detritus?

detritus,i believe, looks like the color of copper. ?I have a powerheaad running and its in a rubbermaid, so theres plenty of circulation. any ideas?
