when you drip, are you actually dripping?

Since I'm not going to invest in a drip system, and I haven't found any decent plans for a DIY drip, I concocted my own temporary solution. I add water to my tank via a syphon that uses standard airline tubing. To slow the water flow, I took a cheap pair of vice-grip pliars and clamped them down on the airline tubing to the point where the water was just barely able to flow (just past drip speed). When dosing Kalk, I use the same system... should I slow the flow down even more... to an actual drip?

I used a cheap air adjusting valve to regulate my drip (when I did drip). It fits the airline tubing good ,'cuase that's what it's for, and allows you to fine tune, or completely shut off, the drip easily.....HTH

Try to locate a source for IV bags....any hospital will have them. I have three that I use to drip additives/kalk with. Just remove the line...insert ito container...and the line itself has a regulator that can adjust drip/flow rate. Works like a charm.
But personally I'd regulate the rate below a flow....I add Seachem products at around 2-3 drips per sec and kalk lower at about 1 drip per sec....but thats whats worked well for my system...
