When you u do water changes?

Not with plain tap water, Thats a pretty small tank, so whatever is in the water will not be diluted very much. Get a 5 gal container "new" and made for only water...$5
Go buy Ro/Di. Do the water change with that :yes:

Prob not, but there will be trace minerals and some Organic & Inorganic Chemicals that ain't good. If you start using the ro/di water, you will be on the right path. What bacteria that has been killed off should come back with time.
Mix salt with new water
Wait a day before putting in, unless tank is empty of critters
Wait till water readings are "0" for nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia. You may have a mini-cycle starting.

because when the tank crashed almost everything died the fish were turnin white do u know what could of caused that.

Yes. Make sure you mix the salt and RO, and let it stand atleast a day. (so it totaly disolves). You can put the LR in after you have the LS & water going again. :yes:

I have a somewhat decent lfs but sometimes i will go to sarasota because they know more about swf.
