Where do fish really go?

Well i had 2 allardi clownfish...1 jumped out i found that 2 wks later under the stand...now im missin a true perc...not on the floor...not behind the tank..not in the hob filter box...any clues?...and i didnt want to start moving rocks around and stir things up...tanks been up for about 9 months now...geez...i havent looked in my tank for a few days..bout to do a water change...and poof ...nothin is there
any suggestions???

Fish usually wedge them selves in rocks when they are about to die. What type of clean up crew do you have? If you have hermits or shrimp they probably ate the remains of the fish. What are you parameters because a fish dieng could cause a ammonia spike.

i got one hermit...bout 10-15 nars snails...10-15 turbo snails...cleaner shrimp..mandarin goby..emeral crab..

I agree. Test your water parameters again in a few days. If his remains are in there then you should see a spike. Do you have any household pets that may have taken him if he did jump?

i have a husky but its gated off..though it would be noticeable if he was munching on something in front of us being we dont leave food and bones laying around all day

plus if i had a spike my corals in the tank wouldnt be doin so hot either...but they are fine their mood hasn't changed

You just noticed that he is missing today right? It would take a day or more to spike. In all likelihood though, the cleanup crew ate the fish, if he is dead.

I would figure out why they are dieing or jumping. Did you notice anything wrong with them? How were they eating? Have you checked your outlet for stray voltage?

i really havent noticed anything wrong...wires are fine...water is good..light is good..flow is good..kinda like a perfect condo to me if you ask

What kind of tank do you have. One of my tanks is a 24 g nanocube and somehow one of my clowns got back in the filter part and although I looked there a few times, I saw him at last. Just a thought
