Some grocery stores have them... It's called pickling lime. The brands are Mrs Wage or Balls. Look for them in the canning section.

I called wallfart - no go. And called most of the larger grocery stores, no go. I'm going to check my farmers market tomorrow. I bet they'll have it. they usually have what I need.

Can't you just go to your lfs and get the Kalk Mix. It's pretty cheap for the amount you use.

Hey az, I've seen you post in other threads about Kalk. How has yours been going? Do you drip it 24/7 like some people? Did it fix your water parameters?

I'll be able to let you know today if the first batch made a difference. I started dripping yesterday around 4pm or so and checking this morning it's almost gone. I'm starting with a low dose though, so I don't over shoot the pH. I tested my water yesterday just before I started dripping and I'll test my water again today at the same time. So hopefully things will have improved some. I will say this, my Alk has been going down little by little each day (on it's own), with my pH staying at 8.0. Good that my pH is not dropping, but i need to get it higher, so hopefully this did the trick.

I get it at Safeway. If they don't have it in your area, then you can find it online, aslo.

walmart always carry it its in the with the canning stuff. you might be better off just going and look yourself. I also get mine at a garden center like the family owned kind where you get blocks of salt for water softners and horses.

My farmers market actually didn't have it - but I checked at Walmart - they didn't get it in this season??? But then I found it at Kroger! I've mixed it and it's sitting. THANKS!
