i went by this afternoon to look during the day.we actually saved alot of the house .except for the gararge the rest of the house was burnt half way up and saved most of their belongings in the dressers and closets.although i dont know if they will get the smell out of everything.we went in as soon as we got there and saved alot of pictures and photo books we could find untill the roof started coming down.

My wife's mother died in a house fire (long before we met).
I cannot imagine going through something like that.
I didn't realize you are a firefighter <salutes>

from what i heard.a neighbor was walking their dog and seen flames coming out of the gararge roof.she ran to the front door and banged on it.the homeowner was in the back part of the house and got out.she was home alone.i talked to the husband there today and i guess they had 3 cats and they didnt make it out.the wife left the front door open to give them a chance.problem with these new big houses they want these mega tall roof lines so the house looks bigger i guess.well once a fire gets to the bottom roof on these fire goes uphill very fast.when i got there it was just above the gararge.i had water from the truck on it in less that 3 minutes .3 inch line with 120 psi.so i was blasting it.problem was the wind was blowing directly at it and the fire spread inside the whole roofline in minutes.usually we try to get in from the opposite side of the structure to cut the fire off but the roof lit up so fast there was no way.so we just got out as much personal stuff as we could grab before the ceiling started coming down.i got home around 3am. took a shower ,ate my subway sub and passed out.
so now i am just going to relax today.

Wow! That is unbelievable! I can't believe you guys saved some of the photos. That is awesome. I think firefighters are underrated. You truly are a hero.

hero? dont think so.if you are ever around a firefighter we sure dont consider ourselves a hero.its more like a social group like a reef club.just a bit more exiting.we are like a big family .i think its just an awesome adrenaline rush to do this stuff.sure it can get a bit dangerous but not too bad.we go through alot and i mean alot of training so we know what to do .right now i am training for firefighter 2. we just had a test on exothermal chemical inhibitants.lol glad the tests are multiple guess.

I'm sorry...I agree with Gemmy. Firefighters are heros, and it's just like a hero to not think of themselves as a hero. Police officers, Soldiers and Firefighters...These put their lives at risk for others, all of them are heros. JMO

Wow Jeff, God bless you for always helping those around you. Normally people are done after their day time job but you go above and beyond by risking yourself like this with out a pay.

Trust me deejeff, fire fighters are most definitely heros. All first responders are heros. You may not think you're a hero, but that's also part of what actually makes you a hero...you selflessly help people, risk your life, make huge sacrifices, your family makes sacrifices too. Because you actually enjoy your job doesn't preclude you from being a hero.

I agree, all except for police officers in Utah.
Someone did a study and found that patrol officers bring in $250,000 for the state each year. So instead of going out and fighting crime they sit and boobytrap streets just to give tickets all day. Some do actually work as an officer of the law and I really appreciate it but when all they are doing is collecting taxes is p1ss3s me off.
