Where is everyone's sump/refuge?

I want to build a sump/refuge but I'm not sure I want to take my DT off the stand to sit the refuge down inside the stand. Does everyone have theirs inside their stand and if not where is it and is it in plain sight or hidden?

i have the privelage of having a room behind my display which is in-wall. in my last dwelling, i had it in plain sight right next to my display. i look at it just as often, and everyone asks "what is this all about?", and sit and stare when i toss some meaty foods in the 'fuge. they all refer to "jurassic park"

mines hidden in the stand... im kinda a minimalist tho, so other then the tank itself and the return hose, everything else is hidden

I had to use a hang on fuge..... well worth the investment.
I cant fit squat in my stand.... the joys of a 54 gal corner tank.

How much room do you have from the sump to the left side of your cabinet also how much from the sump to the doors

I thing under the tank will only work if you take out the old sump and go with a sump/refug combo utilizing the extra 8 inches BUT I would look into a in tank refug. if you like pm me and I can send you a link

if you can i would put it in the basement totally out of the way!
and everything is down in it
the basement is unfinished so the stand can look like CRAP!
lol

I'm just happy to have everyone's help.
I wish I had a basement under the tank to put my sump in. I live in a 4 level split house and the aquarium is in the 1st basement.

the fug has chaeto very good macro algae!!!!
also its divided because i tried to leave the part closes to you for coral fraging as you can see the chaeto starves them of light thats one reason im going so big on the sump im building now
also i recommend what was recommended to me for the sump as big as possible the bigger the more you will notice how much better water quality is and the more coral you can keep without upsetting bio load
here is a pic of my layout for my 125 sump (the baffles will go were the lines are
1st part frag area 28g, 2nd part macro algae area 19g, 3rd part return pump area 10g and 4th part protein skimmer area/ reactor area 21g

should be adding the baffles this week

try downloading it to photobucket.com and clicking on the direct link and copying it and hitting the insert image button and pasting the link in the box

and no you dont have to have a fraging area you can have just the sump part without the fug if you want
