Where to buy 70ish Gal. Tall acrylic tank?

Does anyone know of a good website or place online to buy a 70ish gal. Acrylic reef ready tank? I need to stay within about 36 inches in length and it seems like a 70 gallon tall is about as big as I can get. Been scopin' ---- but it seems like there’s probably a good website somewhere that has direct from the manufacturer sales or something. Any info would be great,
Thanks

sorry to say, even if somebody knew one, we wouldn't be allowed to post it. I personally don't know any, but add your email address to the post incase somebody does - that way they can tell you :)

There's alot of great custom acrylic manufacturers out there. Alot of them are on the west coast and have great prices, but the shipping costs will kill you. Try looking for a local builder and you might be surprised at how cheap you can pick up a custom acrylic tank for.

Everyone I've heard who has gotten a tank from glasscages has had good things to say about them. That is who I will be getting my 120g from this summer.

wow, not me. On Reefcentral there are bad posts all over the place. Some things people complain about:
1. Very messy silicone job
2. custom design F'ed up
3. chips in holes
It seems they are in way too much of a rush and are concerned more bout money than quality.

After I originally posted this message I bought one off ---- from a place called Acrylic Creations and it's superb. I think he's at acryliccreations.biz or something but he mainly sells on ----. What I liked most about his tank was that the returns come up out of the tank and then back in again preventing very much back-siphon when the return pump turns off. Great for feeding and power losses. Inexpensive too...

hahah that's so funny because i just got off the phone with him
today before even seeing your posts. I think Acrylic Creations is the way i'm going to go to. Do u know if he can do rounded corners and does he have a warranty? thanks

When the aquarium arrived it had a big sheet of instructions on how to care for it and stuff which was very helpful. It also said it had a warranty against defects in workmanship but I can't remember how long. I'm sure if it was a workmanship flaw he'd honor it because he takes his reputation quite seriously. I'm not sure if he does the curved edges or not. In fact, I had my hopes set on having the curved edges but I changed my mind after hearing people say how they distort the water and that the magnetic cleaners will fall off when you get close to them because of the curve. A lot of people were saying the curved edges were the hardest to keep clean.
The regular edges are quite cool looking and transparent too because of the way acrylic edges come together. Looks much more impressive than glass in my opinion (easier to scratch though).
I'm sure you'll be as happy as I am if you get one... sweet aquarium!!!
Here's how it arrived!

curious to know how much u payed for your tank. I know i saw one for only about $380 on ---- but they want $480 for mine.
I also know acrylic prices have risen lately. Do they shave the corners to be rounded even thogh buyt connected? The corners do look good though right? I've seen some other companies on ----, one out of GA. You think pursuing a closer company to save on shipping might be better? thanks, some pics of the tank setup would be really cool. U have any trouble keeping it looking good? corraline tolerable to getting off?

I can't remember exactly how much I paid for the tank, somewhere between 350 and 400 after shipping. I wouldn't settle for a tank that you don't really love IMO just because the shipping's cheaper... you'll only save 20 or 30 bucks for something that's a pain in the butt.
The edges aren’t shaved or anything on mine. They are sharp, clean and very contemporary looking. I'll post a picture below.
Here's my setup in progress:
My lonely tank...
This is my current tank setup which just has some live sand cycling in it while I do some final curing on 100 lbs of Premium Kaelini (Tonga) live rock out in my garage... CAN'T WAIT... MUST ADD.
I also need to add my second wave maker to the other side of the tank. My ReefKeeper will cycle the two on and off every 30 minutes to keep the motion in the ocean. one towards the top and one about half way down.
Here are the pictures of my tank edges
Picture of my 6 bulb T5 Tec-Light. 2 sun, 2 actinic and 2 blue. you can also see the back of my ReefKeeper.
My custom refugium
My custom built refugium with auto top-off system so I don't have to worry about the system running low on water. Company called Aqualine Filters built the system along with the Protein skimmer.
Reef Keeper
Picture showing the cutout I made in my hood to make room for the ReefKeeper system. This thing is great because it controls 8 plugs so I can hit one button and the system will go into a "feeding mode" for 10 minutes and turn off all my pumps, turn on the lights if they're off but continues my heating system and skimmer. Ignore the high temperature it shows... still fine tuning the system.
I'll post another picture once I get all the Kaelini in...

Hey deeze, I was looking at the same tank! Not that I have the money to afford it now, but I noticed his tanks and they look really well, thanks for the postive feedback - mabye I will purchase a tank from him in the future. Your setup should be reallly nice in a couple of months eh?
U like jacksonville? I may end up moving there in some time, do they have alot of LFS there?

Yea, there are a pretty fair amount of marine stores locally. The main racket is Aquazoo which has two locations and they're pretty good... kind of expensive. A great little store just opened off SR 210 called The Fish Bowl that's great. The Owner is easy to talk to and had a lot of good info and stock. Two others called Fish Mania and Ocean Reef that I've only been into once and then the normal *****-Kmart style store.
