where to buy a 20x20x20 cube?

Hey all,
Ive wanted to upgrade to a rimless for some time. I want a 20x20x20 cube, and Im thinking about running nekkid. no filters, no false back, no sump. Just the lights and powerheadss (and religious water changes) for a ULTRA clean look.
I was originally looking at the solana, but for the price, decided to look into custom...
I sent glasscages a email (hold the flames!) and they gave me a price of 392.oo for a 20x20x20 cube with front/sides being starfire. I thought that was a bit high? maybe Im nutzo.
I would LOOOOVe to make my own (thinking about building the stand myself.. so why not the cube!) but Im really worried about the tank being strong enough and not falling apart. I would cry for days if my tank essssploded.
due to a weak silicone seam.
What should I do? Where do I go? Does anyone know someone in S.florida that could make one? maybe even a forum member that has made one / a few?
I saw demartinis thread about her ada rimless tank which she got retail for 110 bucks.. and my quote was 3x that! I think I need help :p
Please offer any advice!
Jess
ps: just sent a email to glasscages requesting further breeakdown of the price because it seemed high. They responded with a new price and a addendum that says "you assemble" said "I guess you want to buy sheets and assemble it yourself" How rude!!!!!! just because I asked about the price?

Hmmmm. Shrimpi running nekkid.....I'm keeping an eye on this thread.

There's a guy in our reef club local that made his own about that same size. I don't think I can post or PM the link to his build though.

salt. Ive seen the tanks alone on the solana for a few hundred bucks and someone locally is selling the setup for 400ish (no light) but the more I think about it, the more I want no false back, and just the glass NEKKID cube

I'm excited to see pictures of the Nekkid. I don't think I have ever seen this kind up setup before.

why not just get an Oceanic 30g cube..its 20x20x20
the glass looks really cheap on the oceanic cube... if that thing came in a non tempered, low iron glass version, it'd be really nice.

hey all,
the glasscages quote was 300+ just for a bare bones cube
The oceanic tank is not rimless.
rotary: There is no ghetto HOB or drilling. This will be a nekkid tank as I said in my first post. NO FILTER SYSTEM. It will run with powerheads only.
A few more questions..
tempered or not tempered?
Do I bother getting starfire glass on a tank like this? The glass will be either 3/8 or 1/2, so will it make any difference? Ive heard mixed opinions.
Just got a quote for the glass panels from a local shop, and they want 85 per panel for 1/2" normal (non starfire) glass. Does this seem high? Where are people getting these glass peices and building tanks for a 100+. Everything I find is in the 300 range.

1/2inch is alittle thick for having the clean look.. how are you gonna run carbon? If the silicone job is minimal and you have starphire glass, the glass seems to disappear when you fill it with water.
It may be cheaper for you to buy a used solana and take out the false wall.

I would go with the 1/4" like the solana but Ive heard mixed opinions from people thinking that it will not be structurally sound at that thickness.
I will not be running carbon. No filtration... nothing. Nekkid.
I dont even run carbon (or anything) on my tank I have now.
