Any one in KC know where to purchase Sea Hares? I need one to help control my algea outbreak.

called Paradise Aquatics and they didnt seem interested in helping.
called Waldo Pets and they didnt even know what I was talking about.
So I decided to come out here before making anymore attempts.

You would probably have the best luck contacting a store called Fish World, it is in Blue Springs, talk to Jeff (one of the owners) he is really good about special ordering things and is very knowlegeable about saltwater, his prices are really good, and he has a nice store but doesn't keep a ton of stuff in stock. The other place to Check out is Aquariums Wholesale, it is in Merriam now but will be moving to the Great Mall in Olathe, in a couple months, you need to talk to Patrick at AW otherwise no one will know what you are talking about. I am pretty sure you would have to special order one at both places.

I know Jeff and Doc well, The only issue is that I am in Olathe and Jeff at Fish World is 45 minutes away. Fishworld has great prices but you have to get there the day he gets his shipments in or you miss all the good stuff!
I also know Patrick but in the past I have tried to get them to order stuff but Patrick and his brother neither really seemed interested in ordering misc items like sea hares. I have bought a lot of corals at their location though and I do have to say they have beautiful corals!
I havent been to Aquarium Wholesale in several months but its nice to know they are moving to the Great Mall which is only a couple minutes away.
There is also a fish store on Johnson drive close to Metcalf but I cant think of their name. I have only been in the store once or twice and bought a Hippo Tang. It lasted 3.5 years until it died 2 days ago.

but I found a place online that has then for $11.95 plus shipping which isnt bad. However, I just wasnt sure how well they shipped especially with the temp in KC only being around 30 degrees. I just hope they work as well as people say because right now my tank looks like crap. My 3 year old Hippo tang just died and im not sure if it was due to age or all the algea in the tank from the recent water change mishap.

Were you talking about Mission Pet Mart? (on Johnson Drive), I worked there for a while when I was in college.
I was going to say if you find one online and wanted to split the shipping cost with someone you could see if anyone in the area wanted to go in on an order with you. There is a pretty big group of reefers in the Kansas City area.

Mission Pet Mart is the one I was thinking of. Did you like working there? Do they have good quality and good prices?

Well it was several years ago, it was okay, the owner is a bit Grumpy to employees and to his customers, I haven't been in the store in ages, but I was not impressed with either the selection or the prices the last time I was there.
I pretty much just get stuff at Fish World (usually when I special order stuff), or AW.
