Where to get fans for new hood ?

Anybody know if I can just buy fans for my new hood Im building at a hardware or computer store. Or do I need to order something special online?

Try the big auction site. I bought 4 120mm 12volt fans for about $7. Each one puts out over 105 CFM of air. My canopy stays cool, and so does my water.

I used 4 4" icecap fans with thermal speed control. These babies are great. HIGHLY recommend. Nice and quiet, you will not be disappointed with performance

but may pass out when you see the price. :scared:

For a simple circuit / thiristor such as the icecaps use, they sure soak the heck out of your wallet.....The fans in all reality are not any better than most offered for a fraction of the cost, and the electronic circuits is dirt cheap to buy......Truthfully all four are not worth what one pays for one of them. I paid 82 cents each for needed electronic component, and it took maybe 10 minutes of my time to solder in. I paid less than $3 each for my 4" fans.......from surpluscenter dot com Icecap may be top line stuff but the name itself is not worth the additonal price espeically for such an item as temp controlled fans.

I paid abour 60 bucks for 2 sets of these online. I had other ones that I made. But these come ready mountable and have on AC adapter for four fans. When I made them my self I had 8 ac adapters. Plus they have an on and off switch and are built really well, I do reccommend them. Here's a pic.
