I have 150 HQI over my 15 gallon. I bought a small 2 1/2" Blue Maxima for the tank and put him on top of the rocks. He doesn't seem real happy. He opens all the time but not fully like I have seen others on this site. And I have noticed most other's clams are on the bottom of the tank. I thought these clams needed alot of light. Would he be happier on the sand?
BTW. water parameters are as allways spot on.

Smaller clams also need supplemental feeding... Just an FYI sort of thing... :D DT's or Phytofeast both work well...

imo, it doesnt need supplemental feeding. i would keep it on the sand bed. ive tried my maxima all over on my rock work, and he wont stay put. he seems happy on the sand bed, so thats where hes staying. the key is to put him in the tank, and dont move him around a lot. let him situate himself. obviously if he falls over, you can pick him up, but dont keep moving him if he rotates around.
