i bought three crabs the other day at my lfs. it just said crabs, and i asked what they were and the guy told me they were good for eating algea, so i figured why not.(the only other thing in the tank is a damsel) i havent seen them in two days, i saw one for like a second, went to get my camera and it was gone. they are little with furry legs but there bodies look blue. should i worry that they are going to die in my tank and i'll never find them?

I might be concerned that the LFS didn't know what kind they were. Blue with fury legs..... might be emerald crabs but they are more of a green color. Very hungry for algea.

With a lot of LR it can be tough to find them. Many are nocturnally active and you won't see them out in the open.
What is your specific gravity? How long did you acclimate them?

clean the hydrometer real well. What kind is it? The Corallife Deep Six seems to be the most accurate from what I've been told.

Use white vingegar...I used that on my hydrometer, I have the Instant Ocean one, and it has kept it working really well.
