What type of fish do you have? Maybe that your fish are eating them. Also do you have a fuge where they can grow and breed?

They also go through cycles, times where you will see an over abundance of them. Then their numbers normalize and few are seen.

Didn't even know you did, just thought you might by the title of your post.
Sorry to say, but you are slowly killing your mandarin. If you don't have a sufficiant food source for him, such as the copepods, you are starving him to death. You should immediately get a refugium with some macroalgae and start breeding some more.

Add a little tank next to your sump with some macroalgae and iether CC or LR rubble. Most people go from their tank, into their sump, into their fuge, then back into the tank as not to filter out any bugs like that directly. There are many more specific posts about building a fuge around this board so do a search or google it.
