I need to cover my tank bc I have a midas blenny and don't want him to be a carpet muncher so...does eggcrate or netting block the light more? Thanks:)

That would really depend on the type of lighting you have... and the type of netting (the coarseness ). If you have florescent lighting, I would venture to guess that the eggcrate may suit you best (if you have several lamps).
If you have a single point light like metal halide the netting would probably be a better choice. Netting with larger holes would be better than something like screen with very small holes.
Sorry to sound so ambiguous.

if you have T5 then i would do eggcrate since it is much simpler than making a frame for the netting. i have a MH and have to do netting since the further the light source is the more light gets cut off if i were to use eggcrate. since your lights are much more dispersed the eggcrate will hardly make a difference. but netting is always the better choice if you want maximum PAR to reach your tank.
