Which Have You Had Better Experiences with??

Ok,, I have been thinking I would use an emporer 400 for my 46 gallon, but now I have been getting more and more interested in a fluval,,, has anyone had any good/ bad experiences with these in their tanks?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!

I run a Fluval 203 canister on my tank for three years. I have had no trouble with them I use it mainly to circulate water and to use phosorb in it.

I'm definitely going to have both l/s & l/r but, what about mechanical/chemical filtration???

skip it and get a good skimmer, the combination of the three is more than adequate and much more stable, not to mention easier to care for, and much more efficient as well
even though you may think you need a mechanical filter for sw, you do NOT, in fact, imo systems are better without and easier to maintain too, trust me on this

i agree with fshhub, mechanical and chemical filters can come in handy at times, but aren't really needed.
