Which is better?

Hey everyone.
I have been taking a lot of pictures of my fish lately. I was wondering what people thought of the two below.
Both are of the same fish, my vanderbilt chromis. The first was taken with flash and the second without. In your honest opinion, which one do you think is more visually appealing?

The first has more clarity, but the second one looks a little more natural. I am assuming the first one is with the flash, and the second one is w/o flash?

I really liked the first one (with flash) too. Both pics are in jpeg format here so don't look as nice or as large as the origionals.
The problem I had with the second one was how blurry the pictures kept coming out. No flash was causing them all to come out fuzzy. Anyone have any tips or tricks to shooting without flash?

You just don't have enough light coming threw the lens to get a good picture.

1st one is more of a proper exposure. the 2nd is way underexposed

Thanks for the information. I'm finally upgrading from crummy flourescent lighting to a T-5 system next week so hopefully there will be more light and a chance for better picture quality.
