I'm getting ready to buy a camera in the next couple of days. I would really like to hear input from all of you. I have a budget of a thousand or less. Any suggestions?

OK I have it narrowed down to either the Canon 6.3 mp or 8.2 mp, i've seen some talk about shutter speeds & lenses. Does anyone know what kind of lenses are good that I need to look into for either of theses cameras? I'm looking up the cameras online at many different places so I can try to get the best deal. Some of the cameras i've found come in bundles with different lenses & other stuff. Thanks for any help, I just want to make sure I get a good price & get everything that i'm gonna need.

Just be careful when buying cameras online. There are a lot of bad places to buy from when it comes to cameras. Go to price.com and check out the reviews on any sites you are interested in buying from. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great places to buy from also. I use the Rebel XT and I am in the market for a macro lense which will probably be coming from online.

I'll go to the price.com & check out the prices. What is the mega pix on your rebel xt? Cost? Are you really happy with it?

"Made in the USA" are getting more & more difficult to find but I still prefer to buy from North American countries. I've been very happy with my Kodak.

My Mom & Stepdad just boughtone of the Kodak Easyshare cameras It's over 5mp, I think it was in the 400-500 range. I've only seen a few pic's from it so far but they looked really nice.

You can find a lot of really nice pics onm here from people using Kodaks. The Rebel is 8.1 megapixel (I think) and I got it for $700. A friend of mine just got one for $600. There is a $100 rebate right now so if you can find a good sale price before rebate, the rebate would sweeten the deal.

Yeah but the "Made in USA" label is made in China

Just kidding...I didn't know Kodak was still made in the US.
