Which lights for 55 gal?

Luminarc III's are good. Look around as everyone has a different oppinion but no one barks about Luminarcs

Luminarcs are probably one of the best halide reflectors, but this is a 55gal. Even the luminarc mini is still 2" wider than the tank.

We can go back and forth with our opinions on which might be better, but I think it's ultimately up to you to chose. IMO your typical 175w halide setup and the TX5 with good bulbs would be pretty comparable.
You CANNOT 100% say that halides are better than T5 or that T5 are better than halides, you just can't. Each system has their strengths and flaws and situations where one might be the better choice. Look at some of the European tanks that are lit with only T5 and tell me what you think. They're some of the nicest tanks I've seen.
