Hi, I am settiing up a 120gal FOWLR tank with a sump underneath. I'm using an overflow/prefilter, the tank is not pre-drilled. The headpressure will be from about 5 feet of hose, pretty much striaght up. Im looking into the MagDrive pumps, as Ive seen these seem to be good quality. My question is this, would a mag 7 be enough? or would I need a 9.5? Another angle is my LFS is recommending 2 mag 7's??????? Please give me your opinions. As always you all are a great help and thanks in advance!

you might want to go with the 9.5 so your turn over rate is higher.
do oyu have a single overflow or double? i have a double overflow and i use a mag 12 and it is working out great. if its a single i think the mag 9.5 is your answer. by the way mag pumps are an excellent choice.

Mag 7 IMO will not be enough with 5' of head pressure on that size of tank.
Mag 9 is what I would go with if it is a single overflow.
Would also like to know if it is a single or double overflow as that would make a difference as the Mag 12 would probably be too much for a single overflow if it's rated around 700gph but if it is a double overflow then definitely go with the Mag 12
