Which skimmer do you run?

Decide on a model you like, then start looking for a used one.
You can probably save anywhere from 30%-60% off the retail price of a new unit.

I just picked up the 2009 model Octopus 150 for my 125g for $185 inc s&h and it rocks. Pulled crap out within 2 mins. No break in period. For $300 you can pick up a sweet one rated for your size such as the Octopus NWB-200 Bubble Plate Protein Skimmer rated up to 250g. Check it out

BMK- Did you CL that deal or what? Is there any other place to get a used skimmer that I don't know about... I don't think I want to ---- this purchase... not for used ones anyways. If It doesn't work or gets broken in shipping, that'd be a pain.

I currently have an off brank, Won Brothers and absolutely love it. It's only rated for a 75G, we just upgraded to a 155 and it is still working amazing. We are in the market for a new one as well. I really wanted a Octopus or an ASM but I keep hearing that people modify them to make them work right. I think I might just get the bigger model Won Brothers since it's cheap and works great

What I have found is the skimmers that people run, they swear by. Any of the high recommended ones will be fine.

Sweet. thanks, I would appreciate it...
I went to a guy today and traded some old equipment to him. I got a skimmer for the used old equipment, but the trouble is, it doesn't have any labels or anything so I don't actually know what brand it is. He was running it on a reef bigger than mine though and he said it does really well. I DK but it was practically free so... I am gonna try it out and see how it is.
I wish I knew what it was. lol

aqua c remora urchin pro. or something close to that. i run it on a 90 and it keeps my tank in tip top shape.
its a hob so i hang it ont he back of my sump and just remove the cup and clean it.
it has a black box so you dont see all that nasty gunk build up.

does anyone have any experience with the precision marine redline series?
can anyone recommend venturi/needlewheel/spray injection?
this may be a foolish comment/question after reading about how not to skimp on a skimmer but it seems like they all pretty much do the same thing. What make one better than the next?
are there any brands to avoid?
