I amlooking at a 65g tub or the 75g tank the 65 is taller and deeper but the 75 is wider. The price is about the same and I am having a hard time deciding which would make the better reef tank

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!
I would go with the 75 gallon. I wish I would have purchased bigger when I started out.

I have a decision to make now I stumbled across this board a few weeks ago and it is great! I started out last year with salt water and now I am ordering a bigger tank and looked at these two today.

well i will add one more vote for the 75. lighting will be something that you sould think about as well with a deeper tank you will need stronger lighting.

definitely go with the biggest you can afford... It'll be easier to take care of and you won't have to upgrade as soon!

i love my 65 so im gonna vote 65... its 3 ft long,18 inches deep and 28 inches tall....the 75 is virtually the same size but is a foot longer.....65 is easeir to light, less expensive, however you can keep longer fish in a 75...tough call, but both are excellent tanks!
good luck
