Which type of coral is easiest to grow and frag?

Well I really want to learn and become better at fragging corals but I don't want to have to wait a year to regrow them to frag some more, so which ones grow the fastest and are easy to frag?

yep i agree with mushrooms as easiest to frag
but xenia and GSP are the fastest to grow out
i had a frag of GSP and in 3 months it had quadrupled in size maybe more
but they are kind of hard to make frags out of
xenias are easy to frag becasue you just cut off a branch with a razor and glue it down somewhere

Ding ding ding....the winner is.....Kenyas. And you don't need to worry about fragging them. They'll do it themselves.

They sure do the frag that i got from you GG is about to drop 3 frags

Ok thanks everyone, I've always wondered about this. Would mushrooms apply to ric's also?
I'm considering setting up a 24g aquapod and using my 150w HQI MH's on it and setting it up as a frag tank.
Want to get some expierence fragging and so that's also why I asked.

Ricordeas can be a little harder to frag without incident than the other mushroom coral species.

Ok thanks everyone. Anymore suggestions would be welcome.
How fast to zoanthids, LPS, and SPS grow compared to a mushroom?

Agree with reefkeeprz, most SPS corals frag and grow very easily if conditions are right, just cut or break a piece and glue it. I break pieces all the time when I'm messing in the tank, they normally will start growing from where they lie, unless some other coral is occupying the space or they get covered with sand.

IMO it probably depends on your setup. I have seen candycanes grow like mad in a system while mushrooms hardly did anything and in another GSP cover every free space available while LPS barely stayted alive.
Wouldn't it be cool if those interested in growing aquacultered tried an assortment and once it was found what that person had a 'green thumb' for focused solely on that type of coral possibly lessening the collection of wild stock?

Ok thanks. I don't know why but I was thinking it was like a hammer or something looking like that.

When people say it depends on the tank, does that mean like the lighting and the parameters (calcium levels)?
One reason I'm getting a nano and not saving for my dream 150g, is because I'm interested in aquaculture and possible as a career. So I figured getting some expierence fragging/growing corals would be better.
