White blotch on Yellow Tang fin

Hello,
My 100 gallon tank is doing great. It has a wet/dry with bio balls, cannister filter, turbo twist UV, Prism protien skimmer, 2 power heads, 30 lbs of LR, 100 lbs of LS with a clown, huma, and pink tail triggers, yellow and hippo tangs, maroon clown fish and wrase.
Noticed a flat white blotch on the Yellow tang's swimming fin yesterday.
He doesn't appear to be harrassed much. Water quality is good. No scratching, the rest of his body looks fine, and he is eating frozen brine shrimp, formula 1, and alge from the LFS.

No I can not. It looks like a common thing that I see in other tanks, not ick, but was still wondering what it was... It is a whitish somewhat transparent discoloration in the middle of the fin about 1/6 the size of the fin

I have a 75 gallon tank with 1 yellow tang, 1 lionfish, 1 clown trigger, 1 emperor angelfish, 1 koran angel, and 1 bluetang, and they all died within 1 month. I tested the water daily and all the levels of testing seem to be fine. They were all fine until they started developing ich. What is the correct level of the salt supposed to be? I have it at 1.021, like how it says. The fish store told me to have it at 1.018, but when I had it at that, my fishes started to die anyways. Any suggestions?? :help:

Hey, Vinny, you posted in someone else's topic....you must be new to discussion forums? Welcome!
Can you go ahead and start your own topic so we can start helping you. Also, take a look at the info on ICH and hyposalinity that is posted in the FAQ Thread.

Hi Beth, completely new to the forum. Odd thing is that my Yellow Tang has this on his fins. Not bad yet but a little. My water tests out at 0 for nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, and ph is 8.2. I have 1 yellow tang, 1 sm black and white striped damsel, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 snowflake eel, and 1 percula clown nothing else seems to be bothered with this at this time. I feed once to twice daily with frozen brine shrimp, flake food, and Krill there is always sheet algae in a clip. Water changes are done approximately once every 3 to 4 weeks. The tang, b/w damsel, and clown have been in the tank for about 6 months. the eel about 4, and the other two about 1 month.

My yellow tang had a white spot on it's fin before. Does it almost (not to be gross) look like an eye buger? I don't know what it was but I did a fresh water dip on him to see if that would help and while I had him out I touched it and it came right off . Of couse a few days later there was one on his fin. I never found out what it was because my husband brought hme a contaminated fish and everything died from ich. Sorry just thought I would share.
