White Dots on Glass and Rocks

I am seeing really small white dots on the glass of my salt water tank and on the rocks.
This hasn't attached to the damsels, snails, crabs, or shrimp yet... Having never seen ick in a saltwater tank before I am not 100% sure if this is ick or not. I am not as concerned about the fish in the tank, but I really don't want to loose all of the live rock and live sand in the tank.

I can't remember what they are. But I ran to the store to find out and they aren't harmful and aparently are beneficial.. I wish I could remember what they were called.. I want to say something like copapods or something like that..

I can't tell from the pic but I believe they are spirorbidae worms. They are harmless filter feeders. If you look closely these will have a very small tight spiral shape. Here are some on the glass:

You are correct, they do have a spiral shape when you look at them very closely...

I used to have a lot. However, after I had gradually added corals, 2 sponges and a feather duster, their numbers have dropped precipitously. I believe their populations limit themselves based upon how much suspended food is in your water.
