White Specks on glass

I just noticed I had these white specks all over my tank. They look like a star when you look at them really close. Anyone know what these are? They are about the size of the tip of a pencil.

Are they moving? Do you have LR or LS?

Yep, got lots of beautiful live rock and 2 to 3 inches of sand. They just showed up in the last day or two. They started showing up on the black plastic back and now have starting showing up on the glass. They look like a grain of salt with 5 little leg looking things that look like lint. Any ideas?

Copods move. I am sorry, I cannot remember the name of what is in your tank, but I have them as well and they are from your rocks and beneficial. I didn't reply before because they have name and I cannot think of it.

I've also noticed just today that I have some of these on the back of my tank. Will they disappear or should I try and clean them off. Will they hurt anything?
