Over the last few days, hundreds of white spots have been appearing on my back glass and heavily concentrated on my heater. At first I thought it was excess calcium. But if I look close it appears the have a semicirculat to circular form to them. They are too small to photo. They don't appear to move.
Any ideas?

Most likely they are worms...harmless filter feeders. Do they look like super min-cinnamon buns except white?
I do not know the scientific name, when I first discovered them, Ophiura came up with the exact name and where to see pics of them...you may want to email here for the exact name.

Sounds like spiroridae (sp) worms. Harmeless filter feeders, they literally come and go. I have seen them more when I start a new tank, but they seem to remain on the filter walls after none are seen in the tank. If they block your veiwing, use your magna float to scrape them off--no spikes or ill effects will happen. I have a pic of them (from another member) but it seems the server is down. I will try to attach it again after this post. edit: It still wont let me attach pics, do a search for them for now and I will try again tomorrow. HTH
