white spots

today i woke up and my yellow tang has small white smooth spots on his body, maybe 5 or so. There are also about 10 white tiny spots on the back glass of the tank. They dont really look like ich from what ive seen in the pics on here. Could it be something else? He had black ich the other day and I gave him a freshwater dip which cleard all the ich off him, they havent come back yet. It is possible to have black ich one day and white ich the next?

Anything is possible. How long have you had the tang? Was he your most recent purchase? What other fish do you have? The spots on the tank are not ich. Ich is not visible unless it is engorged in a fish. Can you post a picture of what is on your fish?

the white spots on the tank are spiral shape. I will try take pics but i dont think the spots will be visible on the tang. Had the tang for about 3 weeks and introduced a clown last week, who has not spots on him. Blue damsel in the tank also has no spots. Tang has been sleeping wedged in a hole on the coral sand.

The spirals on the glass a sprorbids. Hamrless worms. Will probably come and go in the tank.

fill a bucket with freshwater, preferably RO/Distilled water. If u use tap water make sure you condition it - to remove chlorine (ie seachem prime). Try and make temp same as tank. Net fish and place into water for 5-10 minutes.
