White tang?

Anyone ever seen an all white Naso Tang? I went to a store in San Fran today, and they had a few Naso Tang's that where all white. Do Naso Tang's turn white before they mature?

It didn't have a horn. I've never seen a tang like this before. It looked identical to a Naso. They had it listed as an Albino Naso Tang. I was tempted to pick one up, but I havn't been successful with tangs, so decided against it. Also not knowing anything about them I figured I'd try to research it 1st.

I don't know what the unicorns sell for. I've never actually seen one in person. The fish at the store that they where calling an Albino Naso Tang they where asking $40 for a small 2-3" fish.

It is a Naso Unicornis- they don't get their horns until they are 6-8 inches or bigger. They look just like the regular Naso in body shape - they do get much bigger. There horns don't get real big unlike Naso Brevirostris. They are quite common and very hardy but need a huge tank.

DPittman,
Thanks for the info. All the material I've seen on the Unicorn doesn't mention that they start out white. It was an interesting looking fish. Maybe one day when I have a bigger tank, and more experience. BTW my sister in law lives in Everett. I've been there once a few years ago to visit.

What is with this? Is the Semilarvatus a type of shark or something? You have 1653 posts, and you're not listed as a shark. I'm a little confused. Thanks in advance for clearing it up.

My lfs had a unicorn in for $130.00! It was 8 inches lonh which was cool.
And demosthenes, it doesnt matter about how many posts you have to be shark, just how well and corect you are when answering posts. Look at risc, he only has 487 posts, and he is shark. Just wanted to tell you that. :)
