Seriously guys, what's the deal? I opened a thread about the movie "The Notebook." I didn't curse, I wasn't belittling, and in my opinion, it was pretty rated G in comparison to some of the threads that get tossed around The Aquarium.
So WHY? Why was it deleted? Seriously mods, what's the deal?

I agree the "mancard" is getting a little too commonly used on this forum, but oh well. Can't force people to agree with you. To each his own.
So were people posting on my notebook thread? I never got a chance to read anything on it. I have no idea what happened. Did too many people post about man-cards on it? Is that why it was deleted?

Couple of people got personal with their words to one another...it did not last long after a couple of those posts.

Well what I don't understand is why there is absolutely no trace of it. It could have been locked and the underhanded comments edited, but it's just completely disappeard. As the one who started the thread, I really wanted to know what happened to it.
Mancard or not, it's a good movie. If I was watching the tinkerbell miniseries, then I'd probably deserve to have my mancard revoked....
But watching a chick-flick with my wife doesn't deserve revokation IMO. LOL

I was not the one who closed it, but I did read it after it was closed. It became very inappropriate.
Was it against me? Or did others get out of line with each other? And how could a thread like that get out of line??? I mean it wasn't even really thought-provoking... hehe.

Good to know. Thanks for clearing that up.
I just googled "Notebook saltwaterfish" and i saw a link to the thread. It even showed some of the contents of the thread but when I clicked the link and it redirected me to swf, it said the link was to an invalid thread. Oh well, dead end.

I agree with Nick here. Mods, if some posts on a thread get disrespectful or inappropriate, just use your magic eraser to get rid of those posts. Or you can close a thread if you think it's run its course. But to delete a thread, that started out with a perfectly legitimate premise, just because some posters were out of line, seems like a strange overreaction to me.
You guys/girls generally do a good job of keeping things civilized on here. But lately I've seen some unusual decision-making.

I agree. I had to rewrite the post at the top of this thread a couple of times before posting it so it could be politically correct. But honestly mods, it really does upset me that you delete threads like that without any explanation. It makes you guys look like you're turning swf into more of a dictatorship... I honestly felt a little opressed by the mods when I couldn't find the thread.
Valuable people are leaving and have left the forums for this very reason - they feel like the mod power is being abused sometimes.
Can you explain to me your behavior? Why did you delete the thread without any explanation? Because you didn't think we'd need one? Do we not deserve an explanation? Or do I have to open ANOTHER thread (like this one) and do some digging every time I want to shed some light on things like this?
What's the deal?
