How well did they do?
I had a pearlscale for 4 weeks several months ago.
Such a beautiful fish, ate well right off for the 4 weeks then for no reason overnight it died.
I am thinking of trying again but need advice of the experienced.
It will be in a 46 gal then on to a 180 gal.
What do you think is one of the tougher bflies to get?

Of all the butterfies, I think the Pearlscale is the hardest fish. It
is very easy to take care of.
The Racoon and Copperband are very sensitive to water.
I got all three of these, but the Racoon and Copperband died.
I am sorry for your lost. Did the Pearlscale die after the water
changed?

I had a Racoon Butterfly about 15 years ago that I kept in a 20 gallon extra high tank. He lived with me for almost five years, and never showed any signs of illness. It was a very hardy fish, and I've always wanted to keep another one since. I've now got an established 150, and a Racoon will probably be my next addition.

I had a long nose butterfly that was great. It ate readily and was very beautiful to look at. Sadly he was crushed under falling rock about a week ago.:(

I have a semilavatus butterfly that I got about a year ago(maybe more). He was in my 55 until recently when I upgraded to a 150. Had no problem with him whatsoever, eats like a pig and very active and healty. But I think he is an exception and not the norm. Butterfly fishes are delicate fishes and need very good conditions to thrive or even survive.

LOL, wheres all your rock?
I had a copper band for about two months and it unexplicably died. I think it was due to new tank.
