I love how people label sports they don't care for as lame or the people who participate as unskilled. Why is it Boris Said doesn't dominate when he runs the NASCAR road race courses? Seems odd all those unskilled drivers out drive him when he is a skilled road course driver and the NASCAR guys only run 2 road courses a year.
Their pit crews are as athletic as drivers in any sport. They don't get to use the phnumatic jacks or single screw hubs for tire changes so it is pure hustle to get out of the pits first. You really have to follow all of the points racing and pit stratigy to get NASCAR. If you just tune in to see who wins Daytona you are missing the real action.
I actually prefer Drag racing over all else but NASCAR is cool too as is moto cross and off road Baja style racing. Don't care for formula 1 or motorcycle road racing. That doesn't me they are unskilled morons.

Agreed. Nascar is way, way , way overrated.
They do have skill, but IMO there are drivers with 3x the skill of NASCAR drivers.

Extremely doubtful. Most of these NASCAR guys started out racing go carts when they were in grade school. If it were so easy lower tear drivers from other motor sports would be flooding in for the money. You want to see the most difficult racing in the world watch motocycle trials riding some time, I would put what they do up against any other motorsport there is. That doesn't make those riders more skilled than those who drive formula 1 or NASCAR.

hey reefraff, I have to take back all the mean things I said about your opinion about football. I too love all types of racing, but if NASCAR is so laim why does the big networks compete for the rights to NASCAR and why would a company pay $40 million to have its name on the cup?

Why would Ferrari pay Michael Schumacher (Formula 1) $120 Million a year to drive for Ferrari?????

I totally agree with you about formula one and they have some big money over there and I do enjoy formula one, but doesn't that amount include more than his salary and also helps with the team and other expenses?

I read something that put his salary closer to 40 million. But what does the next highest guy earn? I've heard that Schumacher is astronomically paid compaired to the other "good" guys. Like I said before they could earn more driving stock cars if they could dominate at it. Trouble is they can't because there isn't much difference in skill level.

His WHOLE income was about $120 million....for 1 year......
Ok then, if they don't have as much skill as stcok then why are they more fit? And why do they work so much harder.....And you never see an old, out of shape guy in Formula 1....If you have ever watched it or even looked up stuff about it you would know that these Formula 1 drives are more athleticly in shape and in skill than Nascar.....
Hey ask Jeff Gordan...he even said that Formula 1 was great and it was a lot harder to drive than Nascar and it was more intense....
Look at it like this....in Nascar they have poor 0-60 times....they just have about 1 gear....Formula 1 has 7 gears that you have to swich about every 2 secconds.....
