Figured I could post this in tips and techniques as a DO NOT tip!!
Alright, I'm gonna blame this on the fact that I've been working nights and days for the past few weeks. (although the name shrimpy brains says enough)

So, I never do this, but...noticed my tank was low yesterday and decided it would be easiest to just drop the line from my ro/di into the tank and turn it on!!! And.....that's right...I got ready for work and left (about 5:30 pm)
So, math question:
I have a 125g reef with a 25g refugium and about 6 feet of one inch PVC. If I normally keep my salinity at 1.025 at 1/2 inch below the topmost rim of tank, and it is now 1.023.....How many gallons of water are now on my floor and in my stand???

This is why I had my husband hook up ATO to my 225G and to the storage container for my ro/di

I even had a timer, but 9 out of 10 times I forgot about it and would be mopping the floor

Yea, an ATO is on my "list of things to do". I think it just made it to the top!!

It was the easiest thing too...we just bought 2 of those floats from the ro/di place (airwaterice)....put them where we wanted the levels to be...and that was it
No electronic devices needed at all.....

well just before the ATO i would get a shop vac

That does suck I know been there done that and we have hardwood floors, boy my wife was pissed.
