I'm sure we've all read about it by now. And the more I read the more off base I see that you were in starting off your thread. You took words from a practically forgotten time, demonized Sanger as though she was Hitler's equal just so you could drop a shot on Pelosi before you threw her into the category of evil people in this world who preach about tolerance but can't practice it. Did we miss something else?
If ever you had an actual point to starting this thread now might be the time to make it.
Eugenics was a pratice used to remove certain "genes" from society. All backed by science. Granted now we know it was faulty science. However Sanger was willing to take it further than sterilization. Sanger was a champion for Eugenics....Eugenics was used by Germany as propoganda because of our political and scientific push of Eugenics. Before Hitler came to power
Sterilization or complete removal from the gene pool due to mental defect, handicap, criminality, and social misbehavior is clearly the wrong approach.
We hand out an award in someone's name that championed a fake science. That systematically brought about the sterilization of over 50,000 people because they were deemed "unfit" as human beings. This is what I am trying to discuss. As a society should we prevent the procreation of the human race based off character traits, deformities, and handicaps.
Also as a side conversation, are were doing society a favor by constantly using science as a defense for action?

With all due respect, I hear you. I just think that you may be eluding to a connection that just isn't there. Certainly if you read all of the info being put out by sources of "faith" I could certainly see how someone might see this woman as evil.
But in actuality she was a huge champion for women's rights. Women of yesterday were a lot worse off then women in this country are today. Sure you can take random quotes out of their original context and make them sound like just about anything. But what do they mean?
I don't know if the science is a good thing. Some people think that contraception pretty much gave people a license or lead to the mentality that you could live a loose lifestyle without repercussions. Thus enter the baby boomers.
