well, the great tang debate is on again, maybe,
chevron, it is my understanding that you used to (until recently) have a larger tank, and now you have moved(or the tank has moved), and so is this the temmporary situation?, until you get a bigger tank for your fishes?? i dunno if this is the case or not, but i do believe from being around here, that you knew better than that(so i will not preach), however if this is the case, and all you have for now is the tank in question, then by all means, if you are sooon getting a larger tank, keep one, but if the case is that you are not getting another tank, then get different fish please,
i knwow you know about tangs, you have if nothing else witnessed the persicusion here for it(and at the store you worked for, so you should know, and i would give the benefit of the doubt here),
IMO, tangs need the room to swim and play, more than they need it to grow, so no matter the case, get tehm a bigger home soon(whether it is you getting it for them, or putting them up for adoption)
as for your question the other fish are about 15 or 17 inches of fish, so i would not add more than them(this number being figured as adult, and without the tangs), but like you said, the tangs are in THIS tank temporarily, so in time(short hopefully) you will more than likely find them more suitable quarters
