Well Fed EX droped of my new Octopus skimmer today...HOLY COW....is this thing huge! I will have 2 inches of clearence under my stand. Here is my 5 year old Son and the skimmer. I put a Diet Coke on top for size reference.

In the first picture...if you look in the backround you will see a 45 gallon sump. This will sit in that and be underneath the DT tank...like I said...it will be a tight fit but it is do-able.

what pump are you going to run to the skimmer, or are you going to use a gravity feed???

Man, that thing should skim the scales off your fish. Let the boy have his mohawk(I pity the fool), besides you'll be able to make fun of him when he's older. Just joking, I can't get my 6 year old boy to want to get his hair cut, it is always a big production.

nice skimmer, ( he he i have the same exact one ) the skimmer is awsome as is but, after some mods.. it can become a monster!!!! i mesh modded it with some pf4 ( like $5 off the bay) bored out the everything i could on the outlet side, drilled the venturi bigger, and smooth out the volute where the threaded

connects the volute... it pulls a lot more air and was smaller bubbles... for more info look up the 'octopus mod' thread on --...

What an amazing skimmer. I would need a whole new stand if I was seriously considering replacing mine with that. Everything Ive read its a killer skimmer.
