WHOA! What is THIS?!?!

Alright . . . . I have never needed an ID before because most of my hitchhikers have been rather common.
That all just changed I think. I found while peering in my tank with a flashlight, something that I cant even begin to imagine what it is. I cant get a pic of it because I am too enthralled by looking at it to get a pic, plus it runs from the light.
So here is what I know:
1. Its flat.
2. It dislikes light.
3. This is the kinda freaky part - Its at LEAST 3-4 inches in diameter. And I have yet to see the whole animal.
3. It slithers.
4. The flesh is grey with white specs, and the are small.
5. The flesh bends and folds apparently very easily.
6. I have yet to see any sort of identifiable features such as a face, eyes, etc.
Does ANYONE have any ideas? I thought maybe a nudibranch, but i could not find a pic of anything that comes close.
Not really concerned about it as it has already been there for over a year, but i would like to at least know what it is.
Thanks
Justin

Great link NM, but nothing there that is even close. The closest thing on the page is the sea hare, and the only resembelance there is because of the flesh color.
Any other ideas?

Any chance you can get a pic with film camera and posting it later? How about scooping it from the sandbed (being careful of course) and putting it in some kind of container to get a better description? Maybe even set a trap for it to see if it will come out? you know plastic bottle or something with a shrimp inside.
Just thinking out loud.

Does it look sorta like this??? If so it is a polyclad flatworm. This one about 3 inches long, and it could really move fast.

I think thats it! So what can you tell me about these things . . . . primarily, are they safe for my tank, or should I make an effort to remove it?
Thanks for the ID

They are predators, pretty efficient ones too. I would remove it to a species tank and feed it meaty food.
