Whoa... Whats happening to my xenia?

My xenia has been out of control in growing/spreading in the past month, but yesterday I replaced a powerhead, added a frag of monti digi and 6 nassarius snails, and moved around a couple of corals in my tank. Today when I got home from school the xenia looks horrible... its fully closed and its purple, not the usual pink color. Its not near anything that can sting it, and my water tested fine...
I have no idea what to do, does anyone have any ideas? It there a possibility that when I wake up tomorrow it will be good?
ugh...this seems to be my first real problem, and I dont know how to deal with it :(

Yea it looksl like it is melting, but it isnt dead yet, the polyps are still trying to pulse. I can tank one loss, but im not sure if this is a early warning that I am doing something wrong. I dont want to loose my other corals/fish.

anyone? I need to know if I should keep it in the tank to see if it will come back (i can hope). Is it a danger to my other corals? I cant afford for my tank to crash :(

While it is unhappy, it doesn't sound like it is dying yet, just closed up. When xenia dies, it turns into snot. As long as it isn't "melting" just leave it in there. I don't know what could be causing the problem, but most likely it will be fine again in a day or two.

Do a water change, check your alk and your iodine levels, make sure a PH is not blowing directly on it and/or reflected on it as a result of moving things around.

Alright, just did a water change, now all I can do it sit back and wait. Im thinking that it was too much iodine in my water. I dont have a test kit for iodine, but i have been adding it to my tank (newbie mistake, wont happen again).
So... wish me luck

LOL well the same thing was happening to my xenia but I had 4 seperate stalks in the tank that just started looking really puny. Well I think mine is going to be because of to much iodine because I dose it weekly for my clam.
