whoops

just got a pair of baby clowns on saturday.
happened to look into my tank, and the smaller one was missing.
oh great- this lasted long.
flip open the top of my bc14 and sure enough, swimming in my wet/dry trickle tray was my small clown. (i had a larger clown do this about 2 months ago).
so, in trying to scoop him out with my hands (wet), he jumps into the first chamber where my return pump is.
oh great. so i peek in the water level window and what do i see? not only my lil clown, but my MIA (1 week) barnacle blenny, staring at me out the window.
20 min and a major disassemble later, both are now in the dt.
i have to find a way to cover those chambers. any suggestions?

stockings maybe?

Good idea but when wet they don't allow air to pass. What about frag netting or the netting they sell as a bag of oranges. Don't know what it's called.

good point.
i'll have to dig around.
i just need to cover these 3 chambers with some sort of netting so i dont have anymore jumpers.

I had the same problem in my Biocube with a midas blenny who loved jumping into the third chamber. I would have to siphon him out of there every single time. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a cross-stitch/crochet mat and cut it to fit over the top of the back chambers and haven't had a problem since.
You can see it in the pic that I took of the bubbles in my skimmer. It's the white plastic thing.

I like Kat's idea...here is another that I use. Buy 1/2" clear tubing from Home Depot, the kind of tubing you would use as a siphon. Cut that tubing into 3 lengths of 6" or 8". Take a knife and carefully slice the tubing open length wise. You can now put that tubing slice over the backwall and the added height from the tubing will prevent the fish from jumping. I initially state to cut the tubing into short lengths becasue I found it hard to get 1 long piece of tubing to easily attach to the backwall.

:(

The rest of the cube is covered. There's space behind the back wall when the cover is on that still allows them to get over.
