Why are these lights so cheap?

I'm thinking about buying these. But every other setup like this is substantially more. Granted these are generic but what would be the difference between these lights and the expensive ones? They are still 250 watts. Maybe it's a good deal.....Help me out experts!
I deleted the link. Sorry

Not sure, but I would be extremely careful with unknown light brands. No idea how reliable they (or the company) are and could be a potential fire hazard. I would gladly spend a few hundred more for peace of mind. JMHO
yeah, link did not work for me either...it will just get deleted anyhow though...

alright some how link changed- but from what I've heard from that auction site is ballasts will die shortly and/or a fire hazard
save yourself time and money and buy a well known brand

Those lights are Odyssea or Jebo, both made in China. The ballasts only pull between 150-175 watts, so they do not put out 250 watts. I know of several people who have these lights and have changed the halide ballast to Icecap ballast, they plug right in. Compared to a Coralife Aqualight Pro, yes they are cheaper even with ballast upgrade. It all depends on how much you wanna spend.

the odyssea light is a GREAT fixture..Once you swap out the ballast with a good one it cant be beat. I had the 48" 760w light and ran 2 coralvue ballast on it and it was great. Cost a total of $500 and was the exact same setup as the Coralife that cost $980..Its a very good light if you want to do some mods on it. Some people were chaning out the PC lights in it and putting in T5HO as well..
