It's easy. All you do is get your salinity in your tank to where you want it at the water level you want in your tank. Make a little mark there and add RO/DI water to keep tank at that height.
ok sound liek a plan
i have water ready for a wc but them temo is like 70 so is it ok to go in or should i get it up to 75. my tank is 77-78 degrees.

ADD it SLOWLY if you just dump it in your going to cause a swing in temp and salinity. I use a drip line from an old air hose thats tied into a knot and add it in a steady but slow stream and that keeps from having to watch it every second its being added.
If you addd it slow like that you really dont have to worry about temp it wont cause a fluctuation.

top offs are just water NO salt you already have the salt in there so your just readding the evaporated water.
Why would you turn of your PH and filters?

I use a 13 gallon trash can to mix my water. I have a powerhead, a heater, and a small airstone in there. When topping off, I do not worry about temperature on my 55 gallon. I do pre-heat my top off water for my 5 gallon tank at work. It is so small that dumping in 70 degree top off water can change the temp, but on a bigger system this is not needed.
Your mixed water for changes needs to match the water in your tank (Ph, Alk, CA, specific gravity/salinity, and temperature).

im trying to fix the promlem of starting my tank with tap water

so i have been using ro water to do wc and top offs that i do
i think i have fixed th eproblem after many m nay water changes.
so now the tank is mostly if not 100 percent r.o water :help:
so now as i look into my tank all i see are millions of bubbles in there.
so why is that everyther tank i see has crystal clear wateer no bubbles. so what do i do
im going to the lfs on monday to buy rock and talk to my lfs guy and ask him to come check my tank and make sure that it is all set up and healthy (well healthier then it appears to look)
so whats your advice?
it annoys me.

Are you sure about that? I know a decent amount about chemistry and I don't see how that would work. I thought you let it sit in order to allow the salts sufficient time to completely dissolve and reach an equilibrium point.
