Why can't I raise my PH?

I'v been having trouble with my PH being low. (7.9

) I have added buffer a few times but it doesn't seem to help.

I know that buffer isn't that good to use since my alklinity isn't off, but I am desprate! I don't think I'm over-feeding and I have a good clean-up crew. The tank does have a hood. What could be causing this?!

it could be your phosphates

What kind of buffering system do you run in your tank? Live rock, aragonite sand? These should help you keep the system stable. What about water changes? Do you buffer any Ro/ water top offs?

my tank is at least one and a half years old and I have lots of like rock in my tank. I do app. 25% water changes every two weeks with RO water

try adding a power head so it is blowing out of the surface really good. I had this problem with my reef until i did it.

How do you add a power head? I have the kind of filter that sits on top of the tank. (It's Jebo brand)
